Linus H., Maintenance Planner

"In 2016, I began my career at Hamburger Containerboard in Gelsenkirchen with an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic specializing in maintenance. During this time, I earned a TIG welding certification and pursued a four-year evening program to become a state-certified mechanical engineering technician and gain my advanced technical college certificate.

After completing my apprenticeship in 2020, I advanced to a substitute industrial mechanic role, specializing in condition monitoring with CAT 1 and CAT 2 certifications. In 2021, I became head of the Condition Monitoring department after completing my certification as a mechanical engineering technician.

In 2022, I earned the title of state-certified business administrator through a one-year evening program, which led to my role as Maintenance Planner in early 2023. I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechatronics through a distance learning program.”

"I began my training as an Electronics Technician for Automation Technology in Gelsenkirchen in 2017.
After completing the training, I worked as an Automation Technician at the plant.
Through various courses and training programs, I was able to further develop my expertise in the field, which led to me being offered the position of Head of Automation Technology at the beginning of 2024.
I gladly embraced this opportunity and have been responsible for this area in Gelsenkirchen ever since.”

"While I was still training to become a paper technologist, I was offered the opportunity to study for a Bachelor of Engineering degree in paper technology. I was very happy to accept. Towards the end of my studies, I was given the chance to become a process engineer in Trostberg. This was an opportunity I seized. So I commuted between the two locations every two weeks. In the fall of 2016, I returned to my home town Spremberg, where I have been in charge of production since February 2017.”
